The Ford S-MAX is built for exciting escapes to the great outdoors. Since every adventure is more fun when you share it, this elegant Sport Activity Vehicle (SAV) has plenty of space for people and their things. A five or seven-seater configuration, up to three ISOFIX points for child seats, and a flexible seating system means accommodation for everyone and everything that goes with them — from suitcases to surf boards.
S-MAX now offers a new engine option, too: a 2.5-litre petrol hybrid engine. Alongside reduced CO2 emissions, it delivers exceptional power, torque and towing capability. Powerful, efficient and now electric
S-MAX is now available with a new FHEV (Fully Hybrid Electric Vehicle) powertrain. This 2.5-litre petrol engine hybrid system delivers 190PS and 200Nm of torque – exceptional figures for a hybrid. Its equally impressive towing capacity of up to 1750 kg lets you take anything from a jet ski to a small caravan on your travels. As you’d expect, the engine is also fuel-efficient and has a reduced fuel emissions. There’s no need for plug-in charging, and the battery is nested under the boot floor, so you don’t lose any luggage space.
Parking made even easier
Active Park Assist can steer you into parking spaces just 20% longer than your vehicle. Simply push a button and the sensors of this innovative system locate a suitable space as you drive past. Then it automatically steers you in, while all you do is operate the accelerator, gears and brake (following on-screen instructions and audible signals).
Confidence in changeable conditions
An Intelligent AWD system can determine how much grip, cornering balance and responsiveness is required in wet, dry, or icy conditions and on varying terrain. The technology is able to send drive to the front or rear axle depending on requirements. This ‘torque on demand’ system delivers exceptional handling and improved efficiency.
Seats that provide added support… and can give you a massage
Multi-contour seats are available for the driver and front passenger and the design makes them fully adjustable. As a result, they can provide added support where you need it and even offer you a massage, helping you stay fresh on long journeys.
Extra power for emergency braking
Emergency Brake Assist helps your vehicle achieve maximum braking effectiveness in an emergency situation. It’s controlled automatically via the Electronic Stability Control system, which senses how much pressure you’ve applied to the brake yourself and automatically increases it, if necessary.
